At G & M Family Farm we are working towards advancing the apiculture, and agriculture communities in Newfoundland. This is being done through the implementation of techniques such as instrumental insemination, and the development of temperature and humidity controlled overwintering rooms. We are also developing a covered outdoor apiary that will aid in protecting our hives from rain, snow, pests and high winds. The development of a quinoa growout site; a grain that has yet to be grown commercially in Newfoundland; is currently in progress. We have begun the process of re-purposing the second floor of our old barn to be used as a crop drying room for our garlic, onions, leaks, and quinoa.
